The Horrible NewsExcerpt:
Guess what? God's going to try to get your attention. And guess what? God brings things into our lives to get our attention! God brings adversity. God brings pain. God starts doing things around us. And we say, "Well that's just life! That's not God, that's just stuff! Hey, stuff happens! Hey, it's not big deal!" IT'S A BIG DEAL. Maybe God is starting to give us a taste of what it is to suffer the wrath of God. Maybe the loneliness, the despair, the depression, the frustration, and the pain that we're going through right now is just a taste of Hell is like, and maybe if we don't like that, we should get right with God. The Bad NewsGod wants to speak to us. He begins to whisper. And then to speak, then yell, and then he begins to bring about pain. He brings about consequences and circumstances into our lives, and all the time he's just trying to get our attention.
He's trying to let us know that He's out there. He cares about us. He doesn't want us to self-destruct. So he's intervening in our lives, and he's disrupting our lives, and doing things to try to get our attention. "Can you hear me now?" |
