WHY JESUS AND THE GOSPEL?
The journey of faith begins with understanding the good news, or the Gospel, which lies at the heart of the Christian faith. The term "Gospel" translates to "good news," and to fully understand this message, it's crucial to acknowledge the challenge humanity faces due to sin. In essence, sin is what separates us from God, originating from the fall in the Garden of Eden when mankind rebelled against God's way. However, despite this separation, God's love provided a path of reconciliation through His son, Jesus Christ.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" -Romans 3:23
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." -Romans 6:23
"but God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." -Romans 5:8
WHO IS JESUS?
Jesus Christ is not only the central figure in Christianity but also the embodiment of God's love and the key to our salvation.
He is the means of salvation, miraculously sent by God to restore the relationship that was broken by sin.
On the cross, Jesus received the penalty for our sins so that we could receive the benefits of His perfect life.
God raised Jesus from the dead demonstrating His power over death and securing the promise of eternal life for all who trust in Him.
"Christ died four sins... He was buried... He was raised on the third day according to the scriptures." -1 Corinthians 15:3-4
"For it is by grace you have been saved, throuhg faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so taht no one can boast." -Ephesians 2:8-9
